In China`s Disruptors, Edward Tse takes an unprecedented inside look at rapidly emerging Chinese entrepreneurs & their game-changing impact on both China & the world. In September 2014, Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba raised $25 billion in the world`s biggest ever initial public offering. Since then, millions of investors & managers worldwide have pondered a fundamental question: what`s really going on with the new wave of China`s disruptors? Over the past two decades, an unprecedented burst of entrepreneurialism has transformed China`s economy from a closed, impoverished, state-run system into a major power in global business. Alibaba is one of a rising tide of thriving Chinese businesses, & its success has been quickly followed by other previously little-known companies, such as Baidu, Tencent & Xiaomi. Edward Tse is a leading global strategy consultant who has spent more than twenty years working with senior Chinese executives. In China`s Disruptors, he draws on exclusive interviews & case studies to reveal how China got to this point & explore what the country`s rise means for the rest of the world. No one can explain what is happening in China better than Edward Tse` Sam Su, vice chairman of the board & chairman & CEO of China Division of YUM! Brands, Inc. ”A detailed & fascinating study of the changing landscape in China & the entrepreneurs who are driving that change forward. This is a book that will only become increasingly important in the years to come”. (Chen Dongsheng, chairman & CEO, Taikang Life Insurance Co. Ltd., & president, China Entrepreneurs Forum). ...

Different countries give different opening dates for the period of the Second World War, but perhaps the most compelling is 1937, when the ` Marco Polo Bridge Incident` plunged China & Japan into a conflict of extraordinary duration & ferocity
- a war which would result in many millions of deaths & completely reshape East Asia in ways which we continue to confront today. With great vividness & narrative drive Rana Mitter`s book draws on a huge range of new sources to recreate this terrible conflict. He writes both about the major leaders (Chiang Kaishek, Mao Zedong & Wang Jingwei) & about the ordinary people swept up by terrible times. Mitter puts at the heart of our understanding of the Second World War that it was Japan`s failure to defeat China which was the key dynamic for what happened in Asia.

China is one of the great powers of the modern world. Yet in the late 19th century China was a ramshackle & isolated medieval empire upon whom the European colonial powers could impose their wishes at will. China`s Wars describes the series of conflicts from 1894 to 1949 that forged modern China, from colonial clashes such as the Boxer Rebellion, through the chaotic years of warlord domination to the Japanese invasion, the Second World War & the bitter Civil War that followed. Previously unpublished photographs, contemporary pictures & specially-commissioned maps illustrate these tumultuous events & the men who fought them, events that would end with the eventual triumph of the Communist Party & the rise of modern China. ...

Topographic coverage of mainland Spain at 1:50, 000 in the MTN50 (Mapa Topográfico Nacional) series from the Centro Nacional de Información Geografica, the country’s civilian survey organization. The maps have contours at 20m intervals, enhanced by relief shading, plus colouring and/or graphics to show different types of terrain, vegetation or land use. Boundaries of national parks & other protected areas are marked. In addition to all the usual information featured on topographic mapping at this scale, detailed presentation of the road & rail networks, rural tracks & paths, etc, the maps also show campsites & mountain refuges. On more recent editions some GRs, the official long-distance hiking routes, are also marked (although not as clearly as on hiking maps from other publishers). Each map covers 29.5x 18.5 km (with adjustments in the border or coastal areas). The maps have a 1-km UTM grid, plus margin ticks for latitude & longitude at 1` intervals. Map legend is in Spanish only.HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT 50K MAP: all the titles in CNIG’s 200K Provincial Road Maps series at 1:200, 000 are overprinted with the grid for the 1:50, 000 maps & can be used to see the area covered by each 50K title. TO SEE THE LIST OF TITLES IN THIS SERIES PLEASE CLICK ON THE SERIES LINK.PLEASE NOTE
- MAP TITLES: the grids shown on our website serve both the civilian & the military 1:50, 000 topographic series. Although the areas covered by maps in both series are identical (apart from some border or coastal sheets), occasionally map titles differ – only one title is shown on the grid, usually the military one. In Galicia, the Basque country & in the Catalan speaking areas the tendency now is to use local place names rather than the often better known Castilian ones. Where possible, both versions are included in our titles. Map titles listed on our website are based on information received by us at the time of publication, but sometimes maps arrive showing a completely different title! As long as the map number is as ordered, the correct map has been supplied.
