The stylish & hand crafted Britannia Desk Globe by Bellerby & Co. is a truly astonishing contemporary piece boasting unique details & beauty. The up to date globe, painted in distinctive tones of blue & sepia, sits elegantly on a sturdy 200 years old oak wooden base. The cartography, correct as of 2011, shows country & regional borders, rivers & capitals. Names of mountain ranges, seas & oceans are indicated as well as longitude at 10 degree intervals, equator & tropics lines. The information is lettered in a custom 18th-century font designed by James Mosley, a distinguished typographer who ran St Bride's printing library on Fleet Street for most of the last half of the nineteenth century. The solid 7 cm high base is made from 200 year old reclaimed oak wood, fitted with roller bearings to enable fluid movement in any direction by h&.
