Surrey offers many opportunities for excellent cycle rides. Most of the routes chosen for this guide avoid the steeper hills & follow quite roads, easy bridleways & river towpaths. Besides the seasoned cyclist, this book is intended to encourage those new to cycling, those who are apprehensive about returning to it & family groups. The 20 circular routes vary in length from 14 to 23 miles (22.4 to 36.8 Km) & are fully described in the text & shown on accompanying simple maps. There are also details on how to get to the starting point both by road &, where possible, by train. In addition, there is advice on where to find good refreshments & some photos & brief information about the places of interest along the routes. The guide is spiral-bound but lightweight, so it won't add too much weight on a rucksack or on a basket. All the rides take in some of the most beautiful countryside in the county.
