Japan on a large, double-sided, indexed map from Freytag & Berndt showing the whole country including its smaller southern & eastern islands at the same scale of 1:1, 000, 000. On one side is Honshu & the northern tip of Kyushu, plus Hokkaido shown as an inset; on the reverse is the remaining part of Kyushu & the islands of the Kagoshima & Okinawa provinces, plus two insets with the small islands further east into the Pacific including Iwo Jima. The map shows the country’s road network indicating distances on main & selected secondary routes. Railway lines are included, local airports are marked & ferry connections to & between the islands are also shown. Icons prominently highlight various places of interest. Topography is indicated by relief shading. The map also shows the names & the boundaries of the provinces. Latitude & longitude lines are drawn at 1° intervals. Multilingual map legend
Includes:: English, but given the large size of the map it is perhaps disappointing that the legend is placed on the reverse side which shows the less visited part of the country rather than with Honshu where it would be more easily accessible & useful.
