Britain and Ireland on a large, double-sided map at 1:800, 000 from Insight Guides, with street plans of central London, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dublin, plans of the Channel Tunnel terminals, plus a map of the ferry routes likening the two countries with the Continent.The map divides Britain north/south, presenting central and southern England and Wales with northern France (extending to Paris and Reims), western and northern Belgium and the Netherlands. On the reverse two separate panels show northern England with Scotland, plus Ireland. The map shows the topography by relief shading with peak names and heights, plus names of various mountain ranges. National parks are highlighted. Road network is very clearly presented, with driving distances shown on main routes. Main railway
lines are also included. Picturesque towns are highlighted and symbols indicate various other places of interest. The map has no geographical coordinates. Also included are street plans of central London (both the West End and the City), Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dublin, plus an enlargement showing main roads within Greater London.The index, in a separate booklet attached to the map cover, includes street indexes for the city plans as well as a separate list of places of interest.A special feature of the Insight Travel Map series is additional information provided in the margins of both the main map and all the enlargements and street plans.
