Collins Complete Edition World Atlas

Collins Complete Edition World Atlas has a main body of over 140 pages of highly detailed reference atlas mapping, plus a wide range of topical world maps on subjects such as land cover, economy and wealth, climate and conflicts. The atlas comes with thousands of facts and statistics, as well as a specific World States and Territories section that features country data, flags and information. Glossy satellite imaging pictures and an illustrated geographical dictionary are also included. A notably large quantity of significant road and rail networks are shown, as are airports, airfields and even canals and officially recognised tracks. Rivers, lakes and other notable water features are shown, including those with seasonal variations. Cities and towns are indicated according to
population size and national and administrative significance. National and administrative boundaries are marked - including those disputed - and even ceasefire lines are shown. National parks and reserves are demarcated and sites of specific interest are pinpointed.Relief shading is given according to a contour interval scale and spot heights are shown. Maps are presented with lines of latitude and longitude at varying degree intervals, depending on what is most suitable to each page's cartography, and a letter/number grid combination locates indexed places. Cartography type is specified for physical maps, i.e. whether maps are displayed in accordance with variations on mercator, conic or azimuthal systems.
