Bearwood 1903
Bearwood in 1903 in a fascinating series of reproductions of old Ordnance Survey plans in the Alan Godfrey Editions, ideal for anyone interested in the history of their neighbourhood or family. The map covers the Bearwood and Rotton areas, west of Birmingham and south of Smethwick. Coverage stretches from Warley Road and Abbey Road eastward to Rotton Park Road, and from Edith Road southward to Hagley Road. Features include Thimblemill Pool, Lightwoods, Old King`s Head pub, St Mary`s church, Bell House, stretch of LNWR Harborne Branch with Rotton Park Road and Hagley Road stations, Upper Edgbaston Reservoir, canal feeder, etc. On the reverse are street directory extracts for Bearwood Road, Gillott Road, Lightwood`s Road, Poplar Avenue and Poplar Road.
