Map No. H-6A in the TPC series: military topographic survey mapping covering the world's land masses & significant islands at 1:500, 000. The maps are useful as general topographical coverage where nothing else is available, although they are designed primarily as flying charts for military aircraft. TPC stands for Tactical Pilotage Chart. Relief is portrayed by a combination of contours (basic interval 500ft, intermediate contours shown where appropriate), elevation tinting & relief shading, plus spot heights. Towns, villages, major roads, railways & airports are shown but please note that many of the smaller settlements are not named & the road information is not necessarily up to date, as compilation & revision dates vary. Some air navigation information also appears on the map, such as radio beacons & restricted flying zones. Each TPC chart has both UTM & latitude/longitude grids overprinted on it, with additional margin ticks. IMPORTANT
- PLEASE NOTE: The series is gradually being withdrawn from sale to the general public & some sheets may no longer be available when ordered by us. Due to the nature of the map projection assembling these sheets to make a larger map is not recommended. in addition, colours used for relief are not constant throughout the series. In some areas of central Africa & South America the maps have blank spaces, reflecting localized deficiencies or inconsistencies in the survey data.

Tony Blair`s decision to back George W. Bush in his attack on Iraq will go down as a defining moment for Blair, & for Britain. As Ambassador to the UN, Sir Jeremy Greenstock was centre stage in the dramatic months leading up to the Iraq war. After the war he was Special Envoy for Iraq, the UK`s highest authority on the ground, & he worked side by side with Paul Bremer, the US administrator of the Coalition Provisional Authority, in Baghdad & saw first-hand the impact of the divisive turf wars back in Washington. He kept a diary of what he witnessed in Iraq as the security situation deteriorated & has spoken remarkably candidly about the US-led administration. This extraordinary book is a record of what he saw. Greenstock writes openly about US-UK relations & takes his readers behind closed doors in the tumultuous days leading up to the Iraq war. Through his eyes we see the actions & interactions of key players in New York, Washington, London, Paris & the Middle East. To what extent was the Bush administration determined to attack Iraq come what may? What promise did Blair extract in exchange for backing Bush[unk] How important was Israel to American calculations? Was the war legal? What effect is it continuing to have on Britain`s long-term relations with America & Europe? No one is better positioned to set the story of Britain`s decision to go to war in its international context. Held back from publication when originally written in 2005, & now revised with a new foreword & epilogue following the publication of the Chilcot Report, Iraq: The Cost of War is a dramatic & groundbreaking blow-by-blow account of one of the most pivotal & controversial conflicts in recent world history. ...
