
Le Vie Ferrate E Le Strade Postale Della Germania Orientale, an original antique map by F.C. Marmocchi, published in Genoa, 1858. A copperplate engraving, original o/l colour. Map size 27 x 33.5 cm with a mount size of 43 x 49.5 cm. This rather unusual map shows the railways & the major postal routes across Central Europe: through south-eastern Prussia, much of Austria-Hungary & part of Russian Pol&. The map extends from Berlin & Warsaw in the north to Trieste in the south, & from Cracow in the east to Regensburg in the west. The communication system is clearly delineated with railways in dark print & the postal routes in a slightly different format. The map was published in Francesco Constanino Marmocchi's atlas, the Globo Atlante Di Carta Geographiche that was published in Genoa in 1858.
