Product Description

Matt hayes talks about the Guideline Reaction fly rod range at the Sportfish Reading show. Reaction is a modern, yet timeless rod that is more “ Stealthy” in the looks. No flashy, glossy paint jobs, no fancy space-age cut out reel seats, no super customized cork grips.. These rods may be a little more subtle in design, but they are equipped with the best cork we could find, the most High-Tec guides & reel seat components from REC & a blank that has been developed & built with well proven manufacturing methods & the very best graphite materials available. Guideline take advantage of a unique, very advanced reinforcement technology in a very thin special carbon cloth, that ads 10x the strength to a rod blank & also helps in creating a slim-profile ferrule & increased hoop strength. The ferrule areas also integrate a technology that makes the transition points between reinforced areas & the rest of the blank much smoother & without any significant differences in wall thickness. This eliminates many of today’s common ferrule breakages in rods. They use a combination of the very best Japanese & US made graphite cloths from the most well known & respected manufacturers. There are 4 different materials used in the rods, ranging from 35 up to a very high 60 MSI in modulus. As for the rod actions, Guideline wanted to use some of the best from our very popular Le Cie rods, but go one step further in trying to give them a feeling of being more alive & responding with a more pronounced “sling-shot” effect noticeable in the middle & lower areas of the rod. These rods are not slow, they react fast & very accurate & the tip sections in general are quite powerful, which helps loop control & also enhances the loaded feeling in the lower half of the rod. The tips will also stand up well when pulling both heavy sinking tips & larger flies out of the water for the next cast. These rods will be easy to get to know. They are forgiving in terms of the casting stroke & they will appeal to a broad majority of intermediate to advanced casters. If high-performing rods with the potential of throwing a long cast whilst maintaining an excellent “harmonic” feeling are your game, then you should give them a try. 9ft 0in 4 4pce: Fast & ready to react on the fastest takes, this rod has a flexible enough curve & tip to take on thin leaders & shy fish in a variety of situations. Recommended head weight: 9-11 grams 9ft 0in 5 4pce: One of the fastest 5-weights Guideline have built & a rod that will be equally up to the challenge of pin-point accuracy as throwing a full line at a shy trophy trout rising in the middle of the river. A small fighting butt adds comfort & balance. Recommended head weight: 11-13 grams 9ft 0in 6 4pce: Super-charged with speed & power that will enable high line speed & long casts with effortless strokes. A light tip with great balance & a small custom fighting butt makes it more versatile than a standard 6-weight rod. Recommended head weight: 13-15 grams 10ft 0in 6 4pce: Built for float tubing & for challenging larger rainbows or small salmon/steelhead in lakes & medium-sized rivers. The rod has a fast action with a strong bottom half to make it stable enough for great accuracy at distance. Recommended head weight: 13-15 grams 10ft 0in 7 4pce: A very popular & useful all rounder in the 10ft range. Equally comfortable on a UK reservoir as in a Norwegian summer river full of salmon. Made to manage larger flies & sinking lines without collapse. One of Guideline's favourites in the range. Recommended head weight: 15-17 grams 10ft 0in 8 4pce: Features stacks of speed & power, yet loads deep enough to create a great Spey cast with the new Triple-D heads. Handles larger flies, more wind & stronger fish than the 10ft 7. A popular salmon/steelhead rod for use all season. Recommended head weight: 17-19 grams 10ft 0in 9 4pce: This is a cannon built for big fish, strong arms & good casters. Great fun to cast & operate, this will find fans among the single-handed purists that simply refuse to use double-handers. The ultimate rod for big steelhead & salmon in any conditions. Recommended head weight: 19-21 grams * Rods Designed For Trout 9ft 0in 4 4pce, 9ft 0in 5 4pce, 9ft 0in 6 4pce & 10ft 0in 6 4pce * Rods Designed For Trout & Seatrout 10ft 0in 7 4pce * Rods Designed For Trout, Seatrout & Salmon 10ft 0in 8 4pce * Rods Designed For Seatrout & Salmon 10ft 0in 9 4pce
