In the wake of this wide-ranging ban on inefficient incandescent light bulbs, manufacturers have been forced to find a way of preserving the popular antique aesthetic while abiding by the EU's definitions of efficiency. The LED G125 bulb pictured above is part of a range that has been developed by Crompton Lamps to do exactly that. The result is a bulb that offers the best of both worlds, with the gorgeous aesthetic of Edison's traditional design powered by 21st century electronics. Where this modern LED bulb only uses 7.5W, the older versions it replaces would have used around 50W to produce the same 638 lumens.
