Superior wallet made from long lived oiled leather & featuring Tarquin! Debossed. Tarquin is a posh tyrannosaur who wears a top & hat & drinks Lady Grey tea out of a small bone china cup. It has six compartments for cards & two slip holders behind those. But wait! There's more. This wallet features, for the first time in the small leathers collection a further zipped compartment which runs the full width of the piece behind the credit card holders & open slips. The zip fastener is made from solid brass. So this is rather secure, if there is something precious you want to sequester in there. There is one compartment for notes. We have developed a new approach to printing on linen blends, a way to preserve the detail & colour richness of the original artwork. Not an easy thing to do, as I am sure you can appreciate The relatively open weave of the fabric
- 70% cotton, 30% linen in fact, would tend to work against this. We have succeeded, as you can see. This shirt evokes perhaps the sense of an enchanted, fragrant tropical dusk. Exotic foliage forms
- palm, monstera & others fade gently into the background as twilight settles. Bright tropical birds perch serenely amongst them, their vivid saturated hues picked out in the falling light. A generously spaced design, to give a sense of calm & peaceful repose, the natural colour, texture & quality of the fabric ground is allowed to come through. The colour palette ranges from the most delicate sap & blue-greens in vestigial background leaf forms, through ochre & copper-red to saturated scarlet, gold, violet & manganese violet. A charming, restful design known as "wildlife print" though, in fact, we have a beagle in there & another kind of hound; along with some foxes & ducks, in nicely inked, monochrome Autumnal tones, all getting along marvellously in a marshy environment with bulrushes & other slender reed & mead flower forms having flashes & splashes of dusky colour.
