The ethernet ports can connect to DSL modems (e.g. Vigor 120) a cable modem or any other Ethernet-based Internet feed. The multiple WAN interfaces can be used either for WAN-Backup or load balancing. Load-balancing or failover supports IPv 4 only currently (not IPv 6).WAN-Backup provides contingency (redunancy) in case of your primary ADSL line or ISP suffering temporary outage). Internet Traffic will be temporarily routed via the secondary Internet access. When normal services is restored to your primary ADSL line all traffic is switched back to that. Vigor AP-710 Wireless Access Point The Dray Tek Vigor AP-710 is a standalone wireless access point ideal for adding wireless connectivity to an existing LAN or for expanding the range of an existing wireless LAN by using the WDS features. As an access point the Vigor AP-710 connects to your existing ethernet switch or router. Wireless users can then connect to your LAN. You can restrict access to specific devices by locking in their hardware 'MAC address' & if you have a radius server user access can be further limited requiring unique login using 802.1x authentication (MD5/PEAP mode).
