Eggbutt snaffle with rubber covered jointed mouthpiece, made from stainless steel using the investment cast, lost wax method for the highest quality finish. Some horses often Arab or thoroughbred type, dislike a single joint as they have a low palette, in this case a french link or double jointed mouthpiece often keeps the horse relaxed in his mouth more than a single joint. The rubber covering on the bars of this eggbutt snaffle cushion its action, lessening the pressure on the bars. The rubber also gives the bit a warm feel which will encourage some horses to salivate & accept the bit more than a stainless steel mouthpiece. The rubber covered eggbutt jointed snaffle is thought to be one of the simplest bits, & can be good for novice horses & riders as the eggbutt cheek prevents too much vibration from the riders rein being felt by the horse.
