Specializeds new S-Works Venge stands for not being satisfied with being second fastest. This is the new shape of speed. Being eight seconds faster than the Vi AS, the new S-Works Venge is not only the most aerodynamic bike on the road, but it’s also lost 460 grams. Enabling you to live & breathe aero, Specializeds philosophy of Aero is Everything has never been greater represented than with the Venge, & thats because Specialized know that aerodynamic optimisation is the best thing they can do to make you faster. Surprisingly, their quest for the perfect tube shape didn’t start in Specializeds Win Tunnel. It actually started with a brand new piece of technology, the Free Foil Shape Library. Specializeds engineers wrote an optimisation algorithm & utilised a supercomputer to help create new airfoil shapes with different weights, surface areas, & structural targets. Armed with this vast library of shapes, all with different aspect ratios, they could plug them into the different parts of the bike & test a variety of configurations to determine the fastest setup in the Win Tunnel. Compared to the fastest aero road bike to date (the Venge Vi AS), the new Venge is eight seconds faster over 40km at zero degrees of yaw. Its also faster out on the road in all wind conditions
- not just in the tunnel. & while its cool that the new Venge is more aero, there are other factors to make it the fastest on the market. Striking the perfect combination of weight & aerodynamics plays a crucial role in a bike’s overall performance. A bike that’s strictly aero will feel great on the flats, but itll suffer on the climbs & in quick accelerations. A bike that’s strictly lightweight, however, will suffer on everything but the steepest climbs. So, not only did Specializeds designers make the Venge more aero than the Vi AS, but they also took 460 grams out of the module weight. This means they saved 240g in the frame, 25g in the fork, 107g in the cockpit, 25g in the seatpost, & 63g in small parts. So no matter the course, the Venge will prove to be the fastest option when you need to go up, down, & all around. Much of this weight saving comes from the Rider-First Engineered™ tubes. They implemented much of the discovery from the new Tarmacs development, like different layup schedules & materials, & this culminated in a Venge that’s not only lighter, but one that also has a higher stiffness-to-weight ratio & 40% more compliance than the Vi AS
- no matter what the frame size. & while you cant always see these changes, all it takes is one ride to feel the quick accelerations & bump-eating compliance. Of course, Specialized didnt stop there. The geometry also received an an update, & now, its based on over 40, 000 Retul data points, as well as professional rider input. This enabled them to implement a Performance Road Geometry that perfectly combines a responsive front-end with a short wheelbase, delivering instantaneous response & optimal power transfer. Last, but certainly not least, the Venge houses some exciting new features. The new cockpit

- features a stem with a higher stiffness than anything theyve ever tested, new bars that are faster, lighter, stiffer, & feature a textured pattern on the tops for extra grip & control. Next up is tyre clearance. The Venge has absolutely no problem in clearing 32mm-wide tires. &, finally, Specialized have put their Shimano A-Junction in the seatpost, making it easier to charge, check the battery level, & for team mechanics to make adjustments. Nearly every single piece of it was redesigned from the ground up. Every facet was examined & the result is a bike with supreme braking & a 116-second advantage compared to the Tarmac over 40km. In our Win Tunnel every tube shape trailing edge & design cue was made with one objective in mindspeed.
