The all new Demo 29er sees a big design overhaul to provide a plush ride that keeps you firmly in control-even on the most technical of downhills. When the Demo 29 was introduced to the World Cup stage, it crushed the competition on its debut & many more times since. Specialized have focused a lot on the rear shock while redesigning the new Demo, the result being a bike that is incredibly smooth & incredibly fast without sacrificing on control. In the downhill world, low is fast. The lower your centre of gravity the more stable you are, & the more stable you are the faster you can go. The Demo 29 sees a redesigned linkage that places the shock mass as low & forward as possible to this end. Confidence inspiring. Thanks to a more rearward axle path, the Demo 29 doesnt suffer from rear wheel hang-up on square edged hits so your body doesnt have to take the hit. Specialized also introduced the perfect amount of ant-rise to the Demo; there is nothing worse than slaming your brakes on & your rear wheel losing traction thanks to forward weight shift, but with the Demo you stay stable & in control at all times. The Demos geometry was designed to be fast & playful. 350mm of BB clearance provides a good balance of cornering control & ground clearance, whilst the the shorter head tube keeps the bars in the sweetspot.
