Hydration packs are wonderful, although the nature of carrying water does through up a large number of issues. The Hydraulics Reservoir was designed to tackle these issues head on to create the ultimate hydration pack bladder. One of the first issue to be tackled was filling the reservoir & inserting in your back
- which can be a real pain
- was made simpler by the addition of a small handle. Secondly, the comfort of the reservoir was increased through the use of welded chevron baffles that provide stability & shape, helping to stop back panel bulges. The main issue to tackle was wandering hose syndrome, where the hose moves about on the trail & can be hard to find when hitting fast trails. Osprey fixed this through the use of two magnets that keep the bit valve securely held in place, yet takes no effort to remove when you fancy a drink. Finally an additional quick connect system was added for easier cleaning & access.
