She enjoys parchment craft, quilling, paper cutting, embossing, paper pricking,
casting and sculpting, and is the author of numerous books on the subjects. Her other interests involve amateur dramatics, especially music hall and costume design. Tiny van der Plas has enjoyed handicrafts since childhood. When she discovered origami in 1985 she was hooked! In 1992 she made a modular fold out of fruit tea envelopes for her sister's birthday and the art of tea bag folding was born. She has developed tea bag folding since 1993 and has written countless books on this very popular form of origami.
