Orphan Block Quilts explains that orphan blocks are the quilt blocks that never made it into a final quilt. These UFOs (Unfinished Objects) are tucked away on bins & baskets of nearly every quilter. But were not the only generation of quilters who have accumulated them. Author Tricia Maloney shows reader how to find & care for these orphan blocks, to learn their story, & to finally make a home for them. Orphan Block Quilts features 15 period-appropriate projects using antique, vintage, collectible blocks, with information on adapting & supplementing the existing blocks. All projects include a contemporary variation if the reader would like to make the quilt with all-new pieces, as well as information & resources for the repair & care of orphan blocks.
