When Bill Shankly took over Second Division Liverpool in 1959, nobody could have imagined that the promotion he won three years later would set the club on a course to dominate English & European football in the 1970s & 80s. Two Titles & an FA Cup in the 60s were followed by a further eleven in the next two decades, along with three more FA Cups, four League Cups, two UEFA Cups & four European Cups. Although success since 1990 has been harder to achieve, Liverpool have added two more FA Cup wins, another League Cup, & a third UEFA Cup to their roll of honour. This adds up to 31 major trophies in the forty seasons since 1962. So how do you choose just eleven players from a club with so much success? It was, as Stan Hey admits, 'an almost impossible task'. But there can be no denying the quality of the players selected here; they were all involved in sides that won the First Division Title, & were all internationals. The in-depth collection of interviews featured in Liverpool's Dream Team spans three generations of players who took Liverpool to the very top, offering a unique insight in to the club's transition from small provincial outfit to international institution. ...

Informed by John Pawson's minimalist ethos, this book is about making life easier, more enjoyable & more beautiful. It is first & foremost a cookery book, with food that has been carefully selected to be simple, comfortable & delicious, allowing each individual flavour to be enjoyed. Eating is a central focus of our lives & of our homes, & this innovative book goes beyond the food itself to look at the whole context in which we enjoy it
- the plates we eat from, the glasses we drink out of, the equipment we use to prepare the food & the kitchen in which we cook it. John's philosophy is to pare down to a small yet beautiful range of carefully chosen essentials, allowing each object to be appreciated & eliminating the time-consuming confusion of excess. Functionality is as important as style, however, & practical information is provided throughout. Exquisitely designed & produced, Living & Eating is an unequalled guide to a simple yet utterly seductive way of living.

Budda & Christ, perhaps the two most pivotal figures in the history of humankind, each left behind a legacy of teachings & practices that have shaped the lives of billions of people over the course of two millennia. If they were to meet on the road today, what would each think of the other's spiritual views & practices? Thich Nhat Hanh has been part of a decades-long dialogue between the two greatest living contemplative traditions, & brings to Christianity an appreciation of its beauty that could be conveyed only by an outsider. In a lucid, meditative prose, he explores the crossroads of compassion & holiness at which the two traditions meet, & reawakens our understanding of both. ...
