- Winsor Newton 3039729, This Artisan Water Mixable Thinner 250ml is a specific thinner for the Artisan range Although water is suitable as a diluent for the colour, its speedy evaporation can make the colour thicken upon the palette much quicker than conventional oil colour would when used with turpentine, hence why this thinner has been developed. It provides a more oily consistency that is favoured by some artists, & avoids producing an emulsion wth the colour, meaning less colour change than when using water. This qualty thinner can also be used with Artisan oils to create individual mediums, though in order of avoiding over thinning the colour, thinners should be combined with any Artisan medium for very dilute uses.
