- Edimax GS-1008P, This 8-port gigabit ethernet Po E+ switch from Edimax is intended for use in small & medium-sized networks. The compact size of the device makes it absolutely ideal for users with limited space. You can install it with shelf assembly kits in a 19in rack or under a table. Manufactured to provide up to 30W per port, it can convert standard 100-240V AC power from low voltage direct current flowing through existing LAN cable to supply network equipment according to the IEEE 802.3af power. The switch also has Po E detection to see if the connected device IEEE 802.3at is fulfilled; if it is not a Po E device, only data on the LAN cable is sent. The ES-1008P can also connect to many different Po E products, including access points, IP cameras & IP phones. Overall, the best solution if power outlets are difficult to install or are too far away from the device. The standard Cat-5 Ethernet cable is used to connect GS-1008P & the current-fed devices together. This cable can transmit both data & power, while for the current-fed devices, no separate power cable is required, thus reducing installation time & costs.
