In the case of measurements on power supplies, thyristors and power MOS-Fets, the high input resistance of >2MO of the differential probe is very advantageous, as it causes a very high resistance separation from the probe output. In combination with a Safety Class I oscilloscope which is galvanically connected to protective earth (PE), the resistance between the differential inputs exceeds 2MO with respect to earth.
