Adafruit FLORA Wearable Sensors, Modules & Neo Pixels
- Adafruit 1260, The Adafruit FLORA Wearable RGB Neo Pixels bring extra blinkiness to your next wearable project & what's better than a few RGB LEDs? The answer is a pack of 4 x Neo Pixels. These seemingly simple gadgets have triggered an amazing array of creative projects, from watches & compasses to steampunk goggles & more. Each Neo Pixel has solder pads for 5V DC & Gnd, plus data-in & data-out, using just 1 x GPIO pin on your FLORA microcontroller. Simply feed the data-out from one Neo Pixel into the data-in of another to control them both from the same microcontroller (MCU). These LEDs are quite power hungry, up to 55m A each, but with just 4 x LEDs you should be fine with conductive thread on the power connections, though you should keep an eye on the voltage supplied to the last one in the chain. You can use the conductive thread for the data connections. Adafruit have published a driver library to save you the trouble & let you get on with designing eye catching displays. They have a reputation for the quality of their supporting documentation & you will find their Uberguide to Neo Pixels & their Best Practices guides invaluable. In particular the Best Practices guide will help you prolong the life of your Neo Pixels & avoid common mistakes. Adafruit 1260 FLORA Sewable RGB Smart Neo Pixel version 2
