Bakers No.3 Soldering Fluid
- Bakers 61037, Bakers Fluid No.3 is a liquid flux specially formulated for soldering & tinning of tinned materials, copper & brass in many industrial applications. The flux is water-based, containing zinc chloride & other salts, which provide an extremely effective fluxing reaction at soldering temperatures. The flux can be applied by brushing for most applications & is the most convenient method of controlling where the flux is placed. Alternatively, Bakers No.3 flux can be sprayed, or the work-piece can be fully or partially immersed in the flux prior to soldering. When heat is introduced the flux will begin to work effectively so that when the solder is applied, the joint can be formed. Bakers No.3 is corrosive & should normally be removed as soon as possible after the joint has cooled. This can easily be achieved by washing with water, preferably warm.
