Arduino Breakout & Prototyping Boards
- Arduino A000065, The Arduino Wireless SD shield brings wireless communication to the Arduino with its XBee compatible socket. The socket supports the XBee modules from Digi but can use any module with the same footprint. Wireless range is up to 30m indoors & up to 100m line of sight outdoors depending on the module & conditions. Communication can be as simple as point to point serial transfer or more complex broadcast or mesh network modes. A library is available to drive an XBee in API mode & there are a number of getting started guides on the internet. An onboard switch connects the wireless module to either the microcontroller or the USB (Universal Serial Bus)-to-serial converter. The shield also
Includes:: an SD card slot that is accessible using the Arduino SD Library which is free to download. A small prototype area is included for your own circuitry, for example a sensor or two to make your Arduino into a wireless sensor platform. Arduino Wireless SD Shield A000065
