- Adafruit 2999, The Adafruit Arduino Compatible Wi Fi Breakout Board uses the excellent ATWINC1500 which is 802.11b/g/n compatible. Adafruit like this chip so much they now use it in all their designs. Communicate with your microcontroller via SPI using only 4 x signals plus 2 x power lines. With support for WPA & WPA2 security it also supports TLS1.2. You can attach to an access point or run the board as a soft access point to create an ad-hoc network. There are 3 x LEDs which you can either control yourself via the SPI or assign to the networking library to display network status such as connected, transmitting etc. Tested to work reliably with the Arduino Zero & Arduino UNO. Supplied with an assembled & tested main board plus a strip of 01.in. header pins for you to solder on as required. Adafruit supply a free tutorial & library to get you started.
