Please see description below for full product details. This tree has three different varieties growing on the same plant. It's the result of skilful grafting work by expert nurserymen who have grafted 2 additional varieties onto another pear tree. By careful selection of varieties, you can be sure all three parts of the tree will grow in harmony & the fruits will ripen at their natural time. No need to worry about pollination either, as the three varieties on the tree will pollinate each other. The main tree is Williams with Conference & Abbe Fetel grafted onto it. Growing fruit tress enhances the well-being of the environment & that of you & your family. Crops of fresh, heathy fruit right on your doorstep while replenishing the tree population & reducing plastic consumption. Supplied as a Three Variety Family Pear Tree, in a 3L pot. Care Guide- Plant fruit trees at their original soil level, firm them into the ground & water well.- Fruit trees grown in pots will need watering & feeding more regularly than those planted in the ground.- To avoid the roots becoming pot-bound, repot every year or alternate years after leaves have fallen in autumn.- Once in its final pot, a plant can be root-pruned every other year with 30 per cent of the compost refreshed. In between, replace the top couple of inches of compost.- A good mulch will help to retain water & therefore reduce the need to water as frequently, & will prevent weeds from competing.- Your pear tree will not need drastic pruning; just remove any crossing or damaged branches. Any lower branches can be removed if you want to achieve a clear trunk. Otherwise, in subsequent seasons cut back any strongly growing branches by one third to promote the formation of fruiting spurs. Planting Time: All year Flowering Time: April

Golden Smaragd is a wonderful variety of Thuja, an evergreen conifer with a naturally narrow, conical habit. It is slow-growing with sprays of bright yellow-green aromatic foliage. This fabulous collection will be perfect for creating a hedge, dividing up areas of your garden, lining pathways & borders or screening off areas for privacy. Thuja is incredibly easy to grow & requires very little maintenance. It doesn't need regular trimming to keep it tidy, making it the ideal choice for hedging. It's amazingly hardy & can survive temperatures down to -45C, but should be protected from cold winter winds when young. Golden Smaragd is a handsome & colourful decorative tree, ideal as a specimen & perfect for bringing year-round height & structure to your beds & borders. A versatile tree for any part of the garden & well suited to container growing. Thuja thrive in well-drained soil, whether acid, alkaline or neutral. Supplied as a collection of 10 established plants in 9cm pots ready for planting out. Growing up to 5m (16ft 6in) tall & 1.7m (5ft 6in) wide after 20 years. Planting advice for your Thuja: Water your potted plant well. Dig a hole a little deeper & 3 times wider than the nursery pot. Add a soil conditioner such as well-rotted manure to the earth removed from the hole if necessary. Remove the plant from its pot & tease out a few of the roots. Sprinkle on some root grow to help establish a sound root system. Place your plant in the hole at the same level as the pot. Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling). Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball. Water well & mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc. Newly planted conifers need regular watering to prevent browning
- once established they are drought proof. Remove weeds as soon as they appear & mulch well to reduce water loss. Pruning advice for your Thuja: No pruning is required although you can clip to retain its height from spring to late summer; just avoid cutting into old wood. If your plant gets too tall for where you have planted it, clip the top to keep it at the required height.
