The Hero C45A is equipped with a 45mm innovative rim shape featuring a lip at the inner edge of the rim. The lip provides extra strength & stiffness & splits crosswinds giving you more control than a traditional aero rim. In headwinds the lip pushes air around & away from the wheel. Greater levels of stability are also achieved thanks to a wider 23mm rim. Straight pull spokes laced in a diametric spoke pattern add further strength & stiffness while optimising & balancing power transfer. The alloy braking surface offers greater levels of braking performance especially in wet conditions. At the centre of the Hero C45A is the Hero hub. Moving away from the regular designs of most other hubs the Hero hub exhibits a sleeker & more refined shape which complements the overall design of the Hero C45A. The hub is made using weapons grade machining processes & contains our signature TBT Tiramic bearings for near frictionless performance. Compared with other lightweight hubs the Hero hub contains larger bearings granting you with a stronger wheel & more control. TBT Bearings (Tiramic Bearing Technology) deliver outstanding performance. Titanium coated ceramic balls are 60% lighter than steel extremely durable smoother & accelerate faster than their steel counterparts. The starting torque of Tiramic Bearings is only 74% of normal bearings while the turning torque is only 67% of normal bearings. Although we don’t like to use the term ‘a great all-round wheelset’, here is an exception. The Token Konax Zenith Pro tubeless-ready carbon road wheelset is designed for riding fast, regardless of the terrain. With a 52 mm deep aerodynamic carbon rim, this wheelset performs exceptionally well on flatter courses, however, weighing just 1452 grams per pair, this wheelset certainly won’t slow you down on mountainous roads either. Similarly, thanks to the 27.4mm wide, tubeless compatible rim design, the Token Konax Zenith wheelset means that you can run larger tyres at lower pressures for optimum grip, comfort & puncture protection on the roughest cobbles. Due to the lower-quality resin used by some manufacturers, other carbon wheelsets can wear alarmingly quickly under sustained braking. However, by constructing the braking track with a highly heat resistant ‘ Tg X’ resin, Token has ensured that this wheelset can effectively dissipate high temperatures caused by extensive braking on longer descents. This highly durable design feature results in a rim with a much longer life-span. At the core of this wheelset lies the 5-axis machined precision hubset, which are stronger, lighter & more durable than standard CNC-machined hubs. Using the TFT bearing system which utilises both ceramic & stainless-steel bearings, along with Token’s proprietary washer system, the internals of these hubs spin smoother for longer, resisting both poor weather conditions & wear. These hubs are laced to the rims via 18 spokes on the front & 21 spokes on the rear. To maximise wheel performance, Token has employed their diametric spoke pattern which uses a radial spoke pattern on the non-drive side & a triple crossed spoke pattern on the drive side of the rear wheel. As a result, this wheelset is lighter, using fewer spokes than a standard wheelset, without sacrificing any strength.
