Prunus sargentii (Sargent's cherry)
A most spectacular flowering cherry, probably the best of all for its autumn foliage colours. Clouds of rosy-pink flowers cover the branches in April followed by small glossy crimson fruits that are much loved by birds. The leaves turn to brilliant crimson-red early in autumn. Chalk tolerant.
