Malus domestica ' Reverend W. Wilks'
One of the best early cooking apples, raised in Buckinghamshire & first recorded in 1904. The fruits are extremely large & have a delicate aromatic flavour. Cooks to a sweet pale yellow puree, requiring very little sugar. Excellent for baking. Easy to grow, the tree is compact & heavy cropping. It has good disease resistance & is a wise choice for wet areas.
