The Tilia Cordata is a large native deciduous plant of rounded habit, with alternately arranged heartshaped leaves, glossy green above, pale yellow beneath. They also have tiny redbrown tufts of hairs under the veinjoints. The small hermaphrodite Ivory coloured, sweetly scented flowers are produced in clusters of five to eleven in early summer with a leafy yellowgreen subtending bract. The flowers in summer are erect & dominate the foliage, & give rise to very small hairless fruit.
