Comedy spoof of films about prehistoric man, starring ex-Beatle Ringo Starr as Anouk, a social outcast in his neanderthal tribe who, along with other misfits, accidentally forms a clan of his own. Banished from the cave by the hulking tribe leader, Tonda (John Matuszak) after trying to win the heart of his mate Lana (Barbara Bach), he is forced to wander through the wilderness where he meets a string of unlikely allies including Lar (Dennis Quaid) and Tala (Shelley Long). After numerous comic scrapes and adventures, the motley troupe converge on Tonda's cave to topple him from his throne and give Anouk the opportunity to carry Lana off into the sunset - by her hair.
