Pollenase anti-allergy eye drops contain the active ingredient sodium cromoglicate, used to relieve the symptoms of eye allergies such as hay fever. Your eyes can become sensitised when they are exposed to foreign particles or allergens, for example pollen or dust mites. When this happens, the mast cells in your eyes release histamine, & these cause inflammation. Inflammation of the eye causes the typical symptoms of an eye allergy – redness, itching & a watery discharge. Pollenase is a mast cell stabiliser that prevents the allergic response & relives the symptoms of allergy. Cannot be used with contact lenses but can be used 30 mins prior to application of your lenses.
