It works by killing the fungus that is causing the infection. Clotrimazole Cream 1% is an extremely effective cream which will help to relieve the irritation itching & discomfort that comes with a fungal infection. What can Clotrimazole Cream 1% be used for? Clotrimazole is a popular treatment as it can be used in adults & children for lots of different fungal infections & can be used alongside other treatments & medicines. The most common conditions that Clotrimazole Cream 1% is used to treat are listed below: Thrush; vaginal & penile Athlete's foot Fungal sweat rash (rash in folds of skin) Fungal nappy rash Ringworm How to use Clotrimazole Cream 1% Please read all of the enclosed leaflet before the first use of this product. What are clotrimazole pessaries & creams used for? Clotrimazole pessaries are used for the treatment of internal vaginal thrush (Candidal vaginitis) caused by a yeast infection in & around the vagina. Clotrimazole cream is used for the external symptoms that come with thrush such as redness/inflammation, itching & soreness. What are the symptoms of thrush & yeast infections? Vaginal thrush can show symptoms such as itchiness, soreness, an odourless white discharge. Men however, do not always display any symptoms when they have thrush. If your partner has thrush it is recommended you consult with your doctor. How do you use Clotrimazole pessary & cream? Before bed, insert the pessary high into the vagina using the applicator & following instructions from the leaflet provided. You should wait until your period has finished before you used the pessary. Apply the cream to the external surrounding areas of your vagina & back passgae where symptoms show such as burning skin & itchiness. Rub the cream in gently up to three times daily. If you are on your period you may use the cream during this time. You may use the cream until the internal infection has gone. A single dose of Clotrimazole 500mg is usually enough to rid those of the infection within 3-4 days. If symptoms persist after this time then you should seek medical advice from your doctor. What precautions should I take before using Clotrimazole? Always consult with your doctor before taking any medications and also if any of the following apply to you: • If you are pregnant. This is because you should only use medicines on the recommendation of a doctor while you are expecting a baby.
