Simply fill the bottle & when he needs a drink lift the bottle up & squeeze! When using the product it is important to push the rubber cap against the plastic stopper in the tray by pulling the bottle back against it. This exerts pressure against the rubber seals on the cap which then open easily to allow a slow but steady flow of water into the tray. The product will not work if the tray & bottle are not pulled gently in opposite directions i.e. if the tray is laid flat on the floor & the bottle squeezed as there would be no pressure against the rubber stopper. Once the tray holds sufficient water it can be placed on the floor if desired. Alternatively just unscrew the cap & pour in!
