Eqvalan has the naturally derived Ivermectin as its active ingredient. There is no known resistance even though over 200 million doses have been used since it was launched. Eqvalan kills more types of worms than any other wormer including large redworms, small redworms, pinworms, large roundworms, threadworms, hairworms & many other parasites including bots. It does not kill tapeworm. Eqvalan can be used safely in pregnant mares & young foals. It comes in syringe form & 1 syringe will treat up to 600kg bodyweight. Eraquell is the sister product to Equimax, containing the active ingredient Ivermectin which is effective against most common worms except tapeworm & encysted small redworms. A dose for Bots is best given after a hard frost has killed the last bot flies ie around the end of the year. Eraquell is not available as granules If tapeworm cover is needed a "double dose" of Pyrantel (Pyratape P or Strongid P) may be given at the beginning & end of the grazing season. In addition Panacur Guard or Equest may be given ideally in November for encysted small redworms Eraquell is an oral syringe with a specially designed short applicator to suit even the smallest of hands.
