The Hotel Marketa may not be centrally located, but if you want to experience “real” Prague, then live amongst the locals at the Břevnov neighbourhood. The area is quiet at night, & you have a tram stop, restaurants & a supermarket close-by – things are cheaper here too. As the hotel is also located in a hilly area, you’ll also be getting plenty of exercise – just minor uphill/downhill hikes though, nothing too strenuous. Nearby, you’ll also find Prague’s oldest friary, the Brevnov Monastery. Prague Castle, the Lesser Town & the Old Town are just a short tram ride away. The small hotel offers only 26 bedrooms, all mostly mid-sized & furnished in a traditional style. They’re also equipped with basic facilities like a small TV & tea/coffee maker. Breakfast served at the cosy dining room is more than adequate to start your day – cold cuts & cereal, toasts, milk, coffee & tea – unless you’re a voracious eater.
