It is designed for an optimal digestion of all the macronutrients in the gastrointestinal tract. The composition is partly based on the results of studies using the TIM-digestion model from the Dutch scientific institute TNO ("TNO-Intestinal Model"). Gastrozym contains various types of enzymes which split protein (proteases, bromelain, papain), fats (lipases) and carbohydrates (carbohydrases) as well as maltase, lactase, alpha-galactosidase and phytase. Gastrozym supports the digestive system, including in those who eat larger meals and/or consume a lot of refined foods. Gastrozym is a 100% vegetarian complex.
The enzymes are of vegetable and fungal origin and have a wider pH activity range than animal enzymes. They survive the gastric passage more easily and remain active within the gastrointestinal tract for a longer period of time. Where possible, the enzymes are taken from several different sources to create a greater biological activity. This product contains protease enzymes from four different sources and lipase enzymes from three different sources. This product contains a broad spectrum of protein, fat and carbohydrate splitting enzymes, as well as a number of other specialised enzymes, such as maltase, lactase, alpha-galactosidase, invertase and phytase.
