Lamberts High Strength Lactase Complex 200mg (4000 FCC) Lactase is a digestive enzyme required for the breakdown of the milk sugar Lactose. Lactase should be produced in the small intestines, however if little or no lactase is produced or if production is impaired, undigested lactose moves into the colon where it is fermented & hydrogen, carbon dioxide & organic acids are produced resulting in cramps, wind & diarrhoea. This intolerance to lactose is not life-threatening. However, it can make you feel very unwell & although eliminating milk based products is one solution, this can prove impractical as well as resulting in a very restricted diet. Lamberts Lactase Complex 200mg provides 62mg lactase enzyme, equivalent to 4000 FCC (Food Chemical Codex) & can be used on a long term basis to reduce the symptoms of lactose intolerance. The enzyme activity is measured & expressed in Food Chemical Codex (FCC) units, a standard for plant enzymes that is a better description than weight in milligrams. This is a high potency product & can only be compared with other manufacturers? products if they supply units of activity (not weight). Typically per tablet: Lactase Complex 200mg (Providing pure lactase 62mg) Equivalent to 4000 FCC Ingredients: Calcium Carbonate, Lactase, Cellulose, Crosslinked Cellulose Gum, Silicon Dioxide, Stearic Acid, Magnesium Stearate. Directions for use: Take 1 tablet before a meal containing milk products (lactose). 2 tablets can be taken if the meal contains significant dairy content. Do not exceed 3 tablets daily dose.
