The Lisner brand was founded in 1904 in New York & were producers of unsigned jewellery & also as distributers for other brands. In the 1920’s they imported & sold Elsa Schiaparelli jewellery in the U.S. They also had the licence to produce her jewellery & accessories in the United States.
It was in the 1930’s that the Lisner Signature was introduced became well established. Invented by Du Pont in the 30’s ‘ Lucite’ a type of plastic resin became widely used in Lisners jewellery along with rhinestone & Aurora Borealis settings making them very attractive to the buyer. Their designs are renowned for their use of clean lines, geometric & organic shapes which makes the brand so collectible today.
