Product Description

The Designer

Christian Dior established The House of Dior on 16 December 1946 in "a private house" at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, France. The house was inundated with orders & world-famous stars such as Rita Hayworth & Margot Fonteyn bought & wore pieces, raising Dior's profile significantly. Dior established a luxury ready-to-wear collection in New York in November 1948. It was the first of its kind. In 1949, having realised the importance of the complete look for example shoes & accessories, Dior was the first couturier to arrange licensed production of his designs.
