The two of you are investigative journalists willing to take risks & dig deep to uncover the stories no one else will dare touch. You're following a trail of clues that started with the seemingly impossible murder of a pregnant woman known only as Jane Doe. The investigation has led you miles into the Arizona desert, to a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, & a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do. About Outlast 1 In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, the asylum has been operating in strict secrecy... until now. You are Miles Upshur, an independent investigative journalist, who breaks into the facility & navigates the dilapidated psychiatric hospital overrun by homicidal patients. The game is played from a first-person perspective & features some stealth gameplay mechanics. You can walk, run, crouch, jump, & climb over objects. However, you are unable to attack enemies, & instead must rely on stealth tactics such as hiding in lockers, sneaking past enemies, hiding behind crates & barrels, or hiding under beds & tables in order to survive. Most of the hospital is unlit, & the only way for you to see in the dark is through the lens of a camcorder equipped with night vision. Using the night vision mode will slowly consume batteries, forcing you to scavenge for additional batteries in the building. Will you survive long enough to uncover the awful truth...
