The use of multiple rocket launchers by the German armed forces during World War 2 was quite extensive due to low cost & high efficiency of these arms systems. The main inconvenience of these vehicles was scarce mobility which made them vulnerable to enemy counter attacks. Thus, this mobile version of a 150mm rocket-launcher type 42 was mounted on a half-truck SD. Kfz. 4 Maultier, which guaranteed high mobility in off-road conditions. The vehicle was equipped with amour to protect its crew. Manufacturer: Italeri Scale: 1:35 Model: PANZENW. 42 MAULTIER LTD (227) ...

The Mine Sweeper is yet another variant of the JU52 performing a unique task. In order to meet these special requirements, the following alterations were made: The large ring was an electrified metal alloy affair built in sections that were supported with bracings under the fusealage & wings. Low voltage current was fed through the ring while the aircraft was flying over water suspected of being mined by the enemy. The electromagnetic mines encountered. Based on the French coast, the mine sweeping squadron remained operational until late 1944. Some JU52/3mg 6e were used for winter operations to supply fuel drums for the vehicles of the encircled 2. The Italeri Agusta-Westland AW-101 Merlin TTI in 1:72 scale from the plastic aircraft model range accurately recreates the real life multi-role helicopter built by Agusta-Westl&. This plastic aircraft kit requires paint & glue to complete. The Agusta Westland AW101 is a medium/heavy-lift helicopter for military applications but also marketed for civil use. The helicopter was developed as a joint venture between Westland Helicopters in the UK & Agusta in Italy (now Agusta Westland). The aircraft is manufactured at the Agusta Westland factories in Yeovil, England & Vergiate, Italy. In spring 1977, the UK Ministry of Defence issued a requirement for an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) helicopter to replace the Royal Navy's Westland Sea Kings. Meanwhile, the Italian Navy was also seeking a replacement for its SH-3D/H, leading Agusta to discussions with Westland about the possibility of a joint development.

Italeri F-104 G Starfighter “ Recce” (1296) The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is one of the most famous fighters in the history of aviation & also one with the longest operational life: its history began at the end of the 50s & ended, for some air forces, in mid 2000s. Its unique airframe, with slender fuselage & very little wing surface, made this aircraft ideal as an interceptor. Thanks to the thrust of its General Electric J79-GE-11A afterburning turbojet engine, it could exceed Mach 2, 2 with an excellent rate of climb. But it wasn't very maneuverable & difficult to pilot. The F-104G Starfighter was produced on license by several European aviation industries. From the mid 60s, it became the standard interceptor for many NATO countries including Italy, Germany, Holl&, Greece, & Turkey. The armament was basically the same found on previous versions, with a 20mm Vulcan cannon & the option to fit under the wings air-to-air missiles, bombs, or additional fuel tanks to increase the airplane's range. With time, reconnaissance duties were added to the traditional interceptor service. The F-104G was therefore fitted with a dedicated “ Orpheus” reconnaissance external pod that gave excellent operational results. Scale: 1:72 MANUFACTURER: ITALERI PRODUCT CODE: 1296 ...

Italeri F-111 F Aardwark (2689) The F-111 was developed in the 1960s by the USAF as a fighter plane with Mach 2.5 speed at altitude & March 1.2 speed at low level, a combat radius of 1, 200 km half of which is at low level & at supersonic speed, & with an internal weapons bay. The first F-111A was rolled out in 1964 & first flew on 21 December. The F-111 is an imposing craft: it is of exceptional size & weight, being 22 metres in length & with an empty weight of 21 tons & max takeoff weight of 45 tons. The F-111A could carry 50 bombs of 340kg or 26 bombs of 450 kg, a load similar to that of the B-52. It had an exceptional range with max internal fuel over 2, 750 km & ordnance capacity of over 7, 000 kg. Scale: 1:48 MANUFACTURER: ITALERI PRODUCT CODE: 2689 ...

The Italeri Lockheed AC-130 Gunship in 1:72 scale from the plastic aircraft model range accurately recreates the real life US heavily-armed ground attack aircraft. This plastic aircraft kit requires paint & glue to complete. The Lockheed AC-130 gunship Spectre is the heavily-armed close-support version of the popular C-130 Hercules. The basic airframe is manufactured by Lockheed, & Boeing is responsible for the conversion into a gunship & for aircraft support. The AC-130A Gunship II superseded the AC-47 & the AC-119 in the Vietnam War. The US Air Force uses the AC-130 gunships for close air support, air interdiction, & force protection. Close air support roles include supporting ground troops, escorting convoys, & flying urban operations. Air interdiction missions are conducted against planned targets & targets of opportunity. Force protection missions include defending air bases & other facilities. The AC-130 Gunship first arrived in South Vietnam on 21 September 1967 under the Gunship II program, & began combat operations over Laos & South Vietnam that year. By 30 October 1968, enough AC-130 Gunship IIs arrived to form a squadron, the 16th Special Operations Squadron (SOS) of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing (TFW), at Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base, Thail&. By December 1968 most AC-130s were flown under F-4 Phantom II escort from the 479th TFS, normally three Phantoms per Gunship. During the Vietnam era, the various AC-130 versions following the “ Pave Pronto” modifications were equipped with a magnetic anomaly detector (MAD) system called the Black Crow (AN/ASD-5), a highly sensitive passive device with a phased-array antenna located in the left-front nose radome that could pick up localized deviations in earth's magnetic field. The Italeri Lockheed U-2R Senior Span in 1:48 scale from the plastic aircraft model range accurately recreates the real life US high altitude reconnaissance aircraft. This plastic aircraft kit requires paint & glue to complete. In the early 1950s, the U.S. military required a strategic reconnaissance aircraft to help determine Soviet military capabilities. It was thought an aircraft that could fly at no less 70, 000 feet (21, 000 m) would be beyond the reach of Soviet fighters, missiles, & even radar. This would allow "overflights" knowingly violating a country's airspace to take aerial pictures. The first flight occurred at the Groom Lake test site (the famous Area 51) on 1 August 1955. The sailplane-like wings were so efficient that the aircraft climbed into the air at 70 knots (130 km/h). The U-2R, first flown in 1967, is significantly larger & more capable than the original aircraft. A tactical reconnaissance version, the TR-1A, first flew in August 1981. A distinguishing feature of these aircraft is the addition of a large instrumentation "superpod" under each wing. Designed for standoff tactical reconnaissance in Europe, the TR-1A was structurally identical to the U-2R. In 1992 all TR-1s & U-2s (all U-2 Rs) were designated U-2 Rs.
