Chenille Hotties by Davina Thomas Stay cosy this winter with these snazzy hot water bottle covers... This ‘layer, stitch & cut’ technique is an excellent way to create thick, warm fabric quickly & easily, & the frayed edges add a wonderful texture. The fabric made can be used for bags, cushion covers or, as here, hot water bottle covers. You don’t need wadding & as you don’t really see the layers other than the one on top, it’s also a good way of using up those fabrics in your stash that you have no idea what to do with! If you want to add a surface design, like the heart or Union Jack shown here, make sure there’s a good contrast between the top layer & the motif fabric. Good luck quilters! Finished

Christmas Surprise by Davina Thomas This scrappy quilt is a fantastic way to use up oddments from your stash... This very simple quilt pattern is fabulous for using up small scraps &, as it is based on just two square sizes the top is very fast to cut & piece together. Regan loves the scrappy look, but if you prefer a more contained scheme, this quilt will still look great. Just make sure that that each fabric used features throughout the quilt top & don’t forget to add a contrasting colour in amongst the smaller squares, as this really lifts the other colours.
