The history of indigo dates back as far as 2400BC with the Egyptians, & continues to this day. There is a section on Health & Safety as is usual when dealing with chemicals. This is followed by illustrated pages of all the ingredients needed, & the methods of preparing the fabric. There is a wonderful chapter on Shibori, which gives step by step illustrated instructions for different types of resisit: board clamping

- Ori nui; & paste resist, to name but a few. It is worth buying the book just for this section alone, if you are not familiar with Shibori.
