Plum Victoria (Pixie Rootstock)
    A great favourite for
    many years - and rightly
    so! Victoria produces
    large, full flavoured
    fruits in abundance which
    are pinky-blue in colour
    with blushes of yellow.
    Perfect for eating fresh
    from the tree where its
    sweet, melt in the mouth
    flavour can be enjoyed to
    best effect.
    Self-fertile. Harvest
    from late August. All of
    our top quality fruit
    trees have been chosen
    for their flavoursome
    fruits as well as for
    their proven performance
    in UK gardens. Our
    carefully selected range
    is grown on dwarfing or
    semi-dwarfing rootstock
    so trees are easy to
    manage and enables
    several varieties to be
    grown in a relatively
    small space. Add to this
    their versatility and
    attractive spring
    blossom, and you have a
    very welcome addition to
    the garden. Pollination -
    Many of our varieties
    will pollinate themselves
    perfectly satisfactorily,
    but the best fruit set
    is assured by choosing
    two varieties from the
    same species group.
    However, bees will be
    able to help by cross
    pollinating from
    neighbouring trees.

Speedhoe
    Could this be the very
    hoe you are looking for?
    The Speedhoe™ is
    faster, easier and
    sharper than most others
and is a great piece of
    kit in the fight against
    weeds and for use on
    heavy, lumpy soils. The
    unique angle of the
    stainless steel head
    allows for perfect
    positioning of the blade
    for both forward and
    backward strokes with
    minimum movement,
    reducing bending, aches
    and strains. The twin
    points at the rear dig
    sharply into the soil,
    while the curved shape of
    the rear blades creates a
    slicing action throught
    the soil and roots. This
    gives a smooth, but
    powerful ploughing action
    with little effort. The
    overall triangular shape
    of the blade gives a
    stability which prevents
    the Speedhoe™ from
    twisting, thereby giving
    a controlled, even cut.
    Length 1.7m.

Verbena Talman
    We are really excited to
    introduce our new Verbena
    for 2013. From our own
    breeding programme, this
    delightful plant was
    discovered on our trials
    ground in 2009 and,
    immediately stood out for
    its strong and bushy
    habit, superb disease
    resistance and above all,
    its abundance of
    lavender blue flowers,
    with a white eye, which
    exude the most
    deliciously sweet
    fragrance. The star of
    our trials garden, and
    named after our trials
    manager, Brian Talman,
    who discovered it, it
    has performed really well
    through the last two
    summers, standing up to
    all weathers and
    providing a glorious
    show. It has a naturally
    bushy and upright habit
    and is perfect for
    container and window box
    planting, either planted
    alone, or mixed with
    other summer annuals –
    we love it planted alone
    for mass impact and lots
    of fragrance.
