Under the bonnet, ready to burst into action, is a powerful Briggs & Stratton Intek series V–twin cylinder, a massive displacement of 656cc, delivering a much longer engine life, better fuel economy, more power and enhanced efficiency thanks to the overhead valve design and a number of innovations such as a high flow oil pump and a new cooling system. A dynamically balanced crankshaft also minimizes vibrations, again lengthening the engine life and making the ride
considerably more comfortable. Factor in the very tight and efficient turning circle of 31 centimetres and you have total, precise and infinite control of forward and reverse speeds without traditional gear changes or stress or strain and you will be able to negotiate obstacles easily, get into and out of awkward spaces and mow close to edges and fences with ease. Forward speeds are between 0 and 8.7 kph and reverse speeds from 0 to 3.7 kph and cruise control is included to make driving even easier. The Snapper ELT1840RD tractor is a rear discharge machine and the 102cm cutting deck with
its twin hardened steel blades will give you the perfect finish every time on larger lawns, the strong air–current they create while spinning also lifting and transporting the clippings into the large grass receptacle for an efficient collection. The grass collector itself has a huge capacity of 300 litres, saving you from too many emptying visits. Although, of course, emptying the collector is a very easy task, operated by a conveniently placed lever, without leaving your seat. Mulching is possible with this versatile tractor. Mulching involves closing off the rear discharge channel, cutting and re–cutting the clippings very small, then depositing them into the turf where they break done, become a natural fertiliser and produce a healthier and greener looking lawn. kit is available separately Cutting height is adjustable to allow you to cut at the height you want, according to seasonal conditions and requirements. Seven positions are available from 25mm up to 80mm. The rear wheels of this model are 22 inches in diameter and much larger than the front for added traction and to assist manoeuvrability and steering. They are fitted with lawn protecting tyres Construction is very tough, with the front of the tractor being protected from day to day knocks by a solid and durable bumper and the axle is robust and tough, made from cast iron and pivots for added stability. The bonnet is made of steel and is easily removable, in case you should want to take a good look at the engine at some stage. Comfort is important when riding on a tractor for any length
of time and as well as all controls being ergonomically placed the padded, comfort seat is high backed for extra lumber support. A bulldozer type blade, a rear deflector and a snow thrower are available as separate accessories.
