Scarifier / Aerator
    This versatile lawn-care
    machine from German
    manufacturers Einhell can
    be converted in seconds
    from scarifier to
    aerator. In
    scarifier-mode, it
    employs a set of 42 claws
    that gently remove any
    damaging moss or thatch
    that have accumulated on
    the lawn surface; while
    in aerator-mode, its
    eight steel knives cut
    almost invisible slits in
    the turf, in turn
    allowing vital moisture
    and nutrient to penetrate
    the root network. The
    Einhell BG-SA 1231 is
    powered by a
    high-performance 1200w
    motor and will prove far
    easier to start and
    maintain than a
    petrol-driven machine.
    Its four smooth-rolling
    wheels and lightweight
    build (only 13kg) work to
    make it easy to push;
    while it’s three-stage
    working-depth (3 – 9mm)
    ensures varying turf
    conditions won’t prove
    an issue. This
    high-quality but
    low-priced model comes
    with a large-capacity
    28-litre thatch-catcher;
    and is equipped with a
    folding handlebar for
    more compact storage. It
    has a 31cm working-width.
