In 2006, the new Z06TM achieved 505 horsepower & delivered a 0-60 time of less than 4 seconds. Responsible for this was the all-new LS7 engine with the largest displacement small block ever produced by GM®. Inside, the lightweight components, including titanium, assist in getting the power to the pavement without adding excessive weight. The body, too, has a unique aluminium structure for optimum rigidity & light weight for the fixed roof style. A wide front with forward-facing grill opening & splitter along the sides provides aerodynamic down-force. In fact, the aerodynamics of the Z06’s shape was specifically derived from the CR-5 racing program. In the cockpit, the gauge cluster displays the Z06TM logo & the new three-spoke steering wheel has a smaller diameter, providing better handling & >road feel.> Now, this ultra high-performance icon has been faithfully reproduced as a die-cast model with every detail intact.
